Ancestral farming

Honouring the past to protect the future

Honouring the past to protect the future

At Oliveres Vives we see farming not as an extractive industry but as an agreement to live alongside the land. Mountain farming demands complete respect for the slopes and the cycles of the climate.

  • Regeneration pruning. We bring light and structure back to trees that had been smothered by scrub for decades, respecting their century-old shape.
  • Ground cover. Instead of ploughing and leaving the soil exposed to the area's torrential rains, we keep a controlled plant cover through traditional grazing or manual clearing, which enriches the organic matter.
  • Dry stone. We rebuild and maintain the terrace walls, which stop erosion and hold water.
Farming sovereignty

Farming sovereignty

We give dignity to farmers by paying prices well above the industrial average. We believe the best way to bring life back to the countryside is to make working the land a prosperous and respected way of life.

We work by hand and with tools, on a human scale, and without harmful chemicals: local plants live alongside the olive grove and the soil stays alive.
